Relief in Need and Sickness

Relief in Need and Relief in Sickness

Funds are available to assist people in financial need or those who are sick or disabled and are normally disbursed as one-off grants. The Trustees are prepared to consider applications for the payment of court fees in connection with applications for a Bankruptcy Order or a Debt Relief Order. Applications must be submitted on the appropriate form which can be obtained using the links below. These must be accompanied by a support letter from a third party, for example a Social Worker, Health Visitor or Advice Agencies/Organisations active within the community.

Applications are considered at meetings of the Trustees which are held approximately every six weeks. Please contact us for a full list of meeting dates and closing dates for the current year.

The Trustees normally define ‘resident’ as requiring residence for a minimum period of three years in the City of Oxford, and do not consider as residents those who are in the City solely for the purpose of education, such as, as a student at one of the universities or at college

The Trustees do not usually consider applications made for organisations or institutions.
